| The Kitsap Youth Mentoring Consortium (KYMC), is made up of local mentoring programs
and interested community members. The mission of the KYMC is “to improve the lives of children and
youth in our community by fostering quality mentoring relationships through community wide,
collaborative effort.” The goal of KYMC is to support, expand and create quality mentoring programs in
Kitsap County. |

- to become a mentor
- to find a mentor for a young person
- training for mentors or mentor program staff
- more information about mentoring in Kitsap County
- to help with recruiting mentors for an existing program
- to connect with others who are involved in mentoring
- an additional source of funding for a mentor program
- to start a mentor program based on the elements of
effective mentoring practice

This project is also
supported (in part) by a grant from the State and Drug-Free
Schools and Communities Act of 1994, Governor's portion, U.S.
Department of Education, and with State Violence Reduction and
Drug Enforcement (VRDE) dedicated funds provided to the
Department of Community Trade and Economic Development to
support the Community Mobilization Program. Points of view
